SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER – VEHICLE ENGINEERING
AUTOMOTIVE CONSULTANCY
LEAMINGTON SPA
Exciting opportunity for you to join this world leader in the development of engine and vehicle technology. An extensive client base and high levels of growth mean that a vacancy now exists for a Senior Design Engineer – Vehicle Engineering in Leamington Spa.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
• To take a design lead role on vehicle projects including concept and mule vehicles through to production intent design and release
• To ensure the multi-site design team output meets project requirements
• To work with CAE team when developing new designs
• To ensure robust delivery of new designs via FMEA, DDR, accurate BoMs etc.
• To manage supplier interfaces
• To work with development, test and manufacturing teams to ensure robust design maturation
• To assist in resource planning for the vehicle team
• To contribute to proposal development for new projects and prospects
Qualified to HND/degree level in Mechanical Engineering, you will have passenger car / commercial vehicle automotive industry experience in an OEM, relevant Tier 1 supplier or engineering consultancy. General package study experience for Chassis and Power train, as well as experience of design and specification for Chassis including Suspension, Steering, Chassis frames, Engine mounting, and Brakes is also required. Knowledge of the design / drafting requirements for a range of relevant manufacturing processes (casting, welded fabrication, pressing and material / finish selection would be a distinct advantage.
