Barnes Aerospace also provides rapid jet engine component overhaul and repair services for many of the world's major commercial airlines, the This position requires a sophisticated Operations & Logistics executive who is a leader capable of strategic planning with solid hands-on experience in managing distribution controls, logistics, transportation, packaging, positive employee relations, safety and implementation of process improvements that support the overall operational strategies of the organization. Provide leadership, development and direction to staff. Ensures the Leadership Traits, Leadership Effectiveness and Lean are mastered and demonstrated on a consistent basis. Managing the dynamics of change in a fast-paced organization is required. Core Responsibilities: Provides strategic and tactical leadership, direction and management for the Barnes Distribution North America, Distribution overall Network and Operations Team. Develops and executes overall distribution/operations strategy for the organization including capitalizing on the warehouse management system and optimizing the distribution network. Directs the daily operations of the distribution network including packaging and transportation to ensure lean practices are utilized, productivity is at an optimal level and a positive employee relations environment is maintained to exceed the company’s service, safety, sales and margin objectives. Works in close cooperation with peers and across multiple functions, such as Global Sourcing, Inventory Control, Human Resources, Sales and Finance, to maximize efficiencies throughout the organization Proven track record of managing daily and long-term projects in addition to position responsibilities. Tough minded, take charge change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to influence others at all levels of the organization and to create cross-functional alignment. Understanding of all facets of the industrial distribution business (i.e., productivity, continuous process improvements, global sourcing, inventory control, sales, marketing, finance, safety and human resources) preferred. Travel 30% - 50% Education & Experience Requirements: Strong leadership skills and the capability of developing and managing a team of experienced Distribution Center Managers with a strong emphasis on customer excellence, customer-focused results, motivational leadership, safety, positive employee relations and accountability is required. BS degree in Engineering or related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred 10+ years total work experience in Distribution Management with proven successful operations experience. Prefer experience that demonstrates successful progression of responsibilities in lean/continuous improvement, transportation, packaging, logistics, distribution management and utilization of a warehouse management system. Strong project management skills including stakeholder alignment, milestone delivery and cross-functional team leadership.
