General Manager required for a city centre bar in Edinburgh. This laid back yet vibrant unit is in a prime site, and requires a General Manager with the experience and ability to drive sales, build customer base and establish a quality reputation. The concept here is based around a diverse music offering, so an interest in music would be a distinct advantage. With a strong student led clientele the onus is on the General Manager to create the right atmosphere in the unit by controlling the music being played, the drinks offering, and of course, ensuring excellent service - giving the customer every reason to return.
Job Description
The incoming General Manager will be fully responsible for all aspects of the business, from recruitment, training and management development, to full P+L responsibility, marketing and promotions, and the implementation and adherence to very high standards. A strong knowledge of the Edinburgh hospitality scene will be a distinct advantage for this role, as will an understanding of meeting your customers expectations.
Currently a wet led unit, the incoming General Manager will face the challenge of developing trade in all aspects of the business, but having had an extensive refurbishment in 2007, the potential to seriously drive sales and increase footfall is there.
Required Experience
Experience of managing all aspects of a licensed retail unit.
Implementation and maintenance of high standards.
A good knowledge and enjoyment of music.
Impeccable customer service skills.
The ability to train and motivate your team to provide the very best of service.
The ability to promote the unit through various channels.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for the successful General Manager is between £18000 and £20000. Annual bonuses can be achieved up to 50% of salary - paid quarterly - dependant on performance, and you will also be eligible for additional company benefits including private medical insurance.
