Job Description:
S1 Corporation in Norcross is seeking a Senior Developer for a full time
opportunity.

SUMMARY
With limited direction, researches and develops computer software systems
in conjunction with hardware product development. Responsible for
analysis, design, programming, debugging and modifications of local,
network or internet-related computer programs for commercial or end user
applications, such as financial management, HRIS or desk top applications
products. Works on complex software design applications and programming
problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.

Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within
time and cost constraints.

Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate
interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance
requirements of overall system.

Formulates and designs software system, using various industry standard
design patterns and latest software techniques.

Designs and develops Data models and schemas optimized in terms of
efficiency and performance.

Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of
applications using various current programming languages and technologies
(Java, J2EE, XML, SQL, AJAX, STRUTS, EJB, MQ, Shell and Perl scripting).

Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and
documentation.

Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.

Coordinates installation of software system.

May interface with users to define system requirements and/or necessary
modifications.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mentoring of more junior developers as needed.

Conduct code reviews and post-mortem analysis.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
experience in programming computer applications.

Typically requires a minimum of 9 – 13 years of related experience with
BS degree, 7 – 11 years experience with MS degree, or 4 – 8 years
experience with Ph.D.

Requires thorough knowledge of software development and design principles.

Must have extensive experience in architecting complex n-tier enterprise
applications.

Must have the ability to apply extensive technical expertise, and have
full knowledge of other related principles.

Must have the ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems
that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Must have the ability to guide the successful completion of major
programs and may function in a project leadership role.

Must have the ability to represent the organization as the prime
technical contact on contracts and projects.

Must have the ability to interact with senior external personnel on
significant technical matters often requiring coordination between
organizations.

TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT SKILLS

Strong experience in J2EE architecture and Java development environments.

Strong Knowledge of the S1 reference platform components (IBM WebSphere,
DB2, MQ, Actuate)

Strong Knowledge of HTTP/SOAP, STRUTS, XML/XSL, Shell scripting, Perl and
SQL.

Experience in Test driven development (JUNIT, Cruise control) and Agile
development.
