Research Analyst
(Software Development)

SUMMARY:  Perform analysis, design, development and test activities for software-intensive projects for simulation and training systems; work on project teams and interface with clients and end users regarding current and future tasks in the analysis, design, development, integration, and test of simulated processes, actions, and systems for training purposes; perform analysis of system requirements; develop software designs and software; integrate and test designs; document technical data to commercial and government standards; and occasionally participate in business and proposal development activities.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Requires a BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 3 to 5 years software development experience relevant to the job functions. Must have with a minimum GPA of 3.2. On-the-job and academic experience in one or more areas such as real-time systems, graphical user interfaces, 2D/3D graphics, modeling and simulation, and web-based applications may be considered. Requires structured or objected oriented software development experience with various programming and markup languages (such as C, C++, C#, Java, HTML or XML), operating systems (such as Windows, Linux or Unix), and computer platforms (such as PCs or web servers);knowledge of the software life cycle and experience with common software engineering processes/tools are also required; requires excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and make technical presentations; must be proficient with MS Office applications. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
