Kensington Computer Products Group is seeking a Senior Global Packaging Development Manager to join our office in Redwood Shores. The ideal candidate will direct, develop and manage the strategy and execution of global packaging activities across all product lines and channels (retail - B2B) while delivering on corporate and business objectives. This person must be an expert on all technical aspects of packaging development, from design to production, be well-versed with packaging best practices, at a global level, and will have a proven record of streamlining processes and increasing efficiencies, leading to cost savings and reducing time to market. Duties: - Direct, develop and manage global packaging strategy and execution
- Lead all aspects of packaging execution and ensure on time and on budget delivery of global packaging projects. Includes packaging, manuals, instruction sheets, CD art, labels, occasionally shippers, displays etc.
- Lead special packaging projects included but not limited to display, shipper, bundle or specific packaging requirements for clubs and mass merchants
- Maintain a clearly differentiated presence at retail in order to drive purchase while delivering on cost-efficiency and brand consistency objectives.
- Be current on packaging trends and apply them to Kensington to maintain forward-looking approach to packaging development.
- Responsible for defining and managing global packaging budget
- Conduct retail analysis on an ongoing basis and build packaging best practices
- Keep packaging templates, guidelines and processes up to date and clearly communicate to key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation, consistency and increased efficiency.
- Establish localization and international review workflow processes to increase efficiencies, reduce cost and time to market in the regions
- Manage 3 direct reports and one dotted line report based in Asia. Work closely with Packaging Engineer Project Manager.
- Understand and, wherever possible, apply the latest in innovative sustainable business practices when it comes to packaging development
- Research, analyze and build a long term plan and strategy to develop a sustainable packaging at Kensington that will result in increased ROI and brand value.
- Create a balanced scorecard to measure and report the packaging sustainability effort, through selected performance and results indicators.

| Position Qualifications:
|
Requirements: - Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, packaging, graphic design related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience combining graphics design, production and packaging development in an agency or corporate environment and prior team management experience
- Must have proven record managing development of global packaging projects and initiatives for a consumer electronics or consumer packaged goods company
- Must be a team leader with strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
- Strong strategic thinking, hands-on project management, and global communication skills
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work well with wide range of people in fast-paced environment
- Ability to organize, manage time, prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment
- Ability to clearly communicate product, marketing and design objectives
- Expertise in all technical aspects of packaging development from graphics design to production.
- Prior experience in developing sustainable packaging is preferred
- Must be interested in consumer electronics. Prior experience in consumer packaged goods is a plus.
- Must have proven record of streamlining packaging development processes and workflow showing success in cost-savings and reducing time to market.
- Must have experience developing global packaging projects and be aware of international packaging requirements and regulations.
- Graphics design and packaging development expertise with significant experience with Mac & PC use, including a working knowledge of software packages such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop
