We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled SAP Portal Support Team Lead to join our Outsourcing for Accenture Clients (Services) Group.

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible for managing Portal support Team and also actively involving in maintenance of SAP Portals. The candidate needs to be pro-active in managing the Portal Performance and resolving incidents within agreed SLAs.

This role would suit to a candidate with both project and support experience of SAP Portals and has extensive knowledge in Portal developments using both Java and ABAP technology. It is also required that the candidate needs to have overall understanding of Netweaver technology.

Excellent communication skills are required to establish and maintain an excellent working relationship between Accenture and the customer by demonstrating expertise in the SAP NetWeaver Portal Administration and Development of portal applications, knowledge of the business processes and understanding of possible future requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that calls are prioritised and solved according to SLA targets
  • Update documentation repository and call handling system to reflect changes made during call resolution
  • Work closely with the customer (end users as well as portal analysts) to
    • Identify possible improvements to existing design and suggest appropriate solutions
    • Provide knowledge, expertise and guidance in order that potential for new work is seized upon
    • Provide expert input into the design and implementation of new additions or improvements to existing solution
    • Provide accurate estimate of work involved when required
    • Provide guidance to ensure that thorough testing is carried in resolving all call types
  • Create detailed functional and technical designs as and when required
  • Technical implementation of low and medium complexity changes to existing SAP Portals solution
  • Continually look at ways to improve service to customer
  • Leverage broader knowledge from within the firm where appropriate
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the SAP Application Management team
  • Escalate and report progress of major incidents/issues to AM team lead
  • Ensure that existing processes and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Keep users informed of progress on call resolution
  • Communicate with the Businesses Users in an appropriate and constructive manner at all times 

Service Scope

  • Ensure that all types of SAP Portal related incidents are resolved within agreed SLAs
  • Be a good team player and able to communicate effectively across the team and with the client
  • Identify potential problems and have proactive nature in identifying and resolving various issues

Professional Skills Requirements: 

  • SAP experience with at least experience in 2 major projects and detailed SAP Portal experience including experience in support environment
  • Experience in developing Portal applications using Java technologies including WebDynpro for Java
  • Knowledge in developing Portal applications using ABAP technologies including WebDynpro for ABAP
  • Experience in SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure, Single Sign on Technologies and knowledge in Universal work list, Visual Composer and SAP
    BASIS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge in SAP BI preferable but not essential
