Job Description
Qualcomm is an industry leader in design and development of mobile station modems (MSM). As we expand our capability into portable devices, we are building on our portfolio of high-speed digital interfaces. We are looking for an experienced ATE test engineer who can devise innovative test techniques for characterization and production, as they apply to high-speed peripherals working above 1Gbps. These techniques must be highly documented and reusable, so that a 'clean handoff', can be made.
This position requires careful consideration for multi-site (multi-DUT)testing and test time reduction into every test that is written.
Attention to detail and proper documentation are essential.
Skills/Experience
Experienced ATE test engineer to work on high-speed digital peripheral interfaces, such as, USB 2.0, MDDI, PCI Express, XAUI, SATA, SAS, SerDes, HDMI, Sonet (OC48 or higher), & etc.
6+ years experience directly related to testing digital high speed circuits on an ATE platform.
Experience with C/C++.
Knowledge of CMOS circuits.
Experience on Verigy 93000 platform a plus.
Must understand the concepts of characterization, data analysis, and correlation.
This position requires knowledge of CMOS circuits, the ability to read schematics, and hardware development documents, in order to device a test strategy.
Applicants must have a working knowledge of differential signaling, termination, and transmission lines; and also a sound conceptual understanding of jitter, eye diagrams, and PRBS sequences.
All applicants must understand ATE test terminology, and standard/common tests that can be performed with an ATE. Verigy 93000 experience is highly desired, but if the applicant has other ATE experience, we will train.
Applicant must have excellent communication skills, and be a positive team collaborater.
Applicants must have a working knowlege of statistics as it relates to characterization, and correlation.
Additional Skills
Mixed-signal background can be helpful.
Bench test skills are a plus.
Knowledge of vector translation is a plus.
Script writing experience in perl or other scripting language is a plus, but not required.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
