Sr. Mgr, Engineering
QLogic, a leading supplier of high performance networking and storage solutions, has an immediate need for an Engineering Manager Inin our Mountain View location. This position you will be responsible for InfiniPath QA and lab management. In addition to employee management, this highly technical manager will be responsible for delivery and execution of test plans, test automation, software installation, logging and data gathering, and equipment purchase and installation. Support the development engineering teams in providing high quality products for both on Windows and Linux, delivering the highest performing InfiniBand HCAs in the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage and mentor strong quality engineering and lab management team, as part of the InfiniPath development team.
2. Deliver and execute thorough and complete test plans, providing the rest of the engineering team with a clear and concise understanding of the quality of the product. Drive to automate test plans.
3. Install software (OS and HCA-related) as requested by development team.
4. Oversee lab administration and configuration. Install new equipment as it arrives and keep the equipment inventory up to date. Ensure cooling and power are sufficient. Configure equipment as requested by the development team.
5. Research and purchase equipment as requested by development team.
BSCS or BSEE, plus 7+ years of related experience with minimum 2 years of direct management experience of quality assurance team, specifically in the networking or system area required. MSCS or MSEE strongly desired. Experience managing people and equipment in a lab environment required.
Strong oral and written communication skills as well as being able to be flexible in an ever-changing environment required. Experience with high performance computing and ability to maintain a sense of humor is a strong plus.
