Description:
Northrop Grumman Defense Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a System Administrator to support the GovTrip program. Duties for this position include installing, configuring, and maintaining Solaris / LINUX servers and troubleshooting problems related to systems. Candidate will investigate, resolve and explain system related issues as well as implement system enhancements that will improve the reliability, maintainability, and performance of the system. Candidate will assist in the installation of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches, and the resolution of software related problems. Candidate will support a multi-tiered, high availability architecture. Occasional off-hours support and some minimal local travel is required. Work location will be primarily at the NG facility in Fair Lakes, Virginia.
The following are the Basic Qualifications for this position: Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 2-4 years experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Demonstrated experience with Solaris/UNIX System Administration and Windows 2000 / 2003 Server administration. Position may be hired at a 2/3. Final grade determination will be based on requirements of the position and qualifications of the candidate. Candidate should be self-motivated, a good team player, possess good communications skills, and be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. US Citizenship Required.
