Description of position The Rational Unified Process (RUP) Project Management Analyst is responsible for helping to evolve, document, implement, and monitor standardized Costco RUP Project Management processes and work products. On an as-needed basis, this position is responsible for helping to mentor and train project management team members and members of various project teams in the Costco RUP discipline as it relates to project management. On an as-needed basis, this position is also responsible for helping to train and mentor team members on the use of ClearQuest, RequisitePro, M.S. Project, and other project management related tools. Daily tasks and responsibilities · Responsible for helping to evolve, document, implement, monitor, and ensure adherence to iterative planning and development as specified in RUP processes for the Costco Project Management discipline through strong collaboration with management and the project teams. · Responsible for working with the project teams to ensure that all Project Management related documentation complies with Costco’s RUP standards. · Provide a project management perspective during reviews of requirements and use case definitions. Will ensure that the quality and thoroughness of the finished product meets the needs of the stakeholder(s). · Mentor members of IS project teams on the Costco RUP Project Management process. . Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates should possess) · 2 years hands-on project management experience leading projects using the RUP processes and techniques · Demonstrated knowledge of the RUP, iterative development, related processes, work products and tools · Proven ability to diplomatically advocate for and implement process improvements · Proven ability to effectively manage projects to completion within the acceptable range of schedule and budget · 3 years experience creating and maintaining project schedules and other project related documentation and work products using M.S. project · 3 years hands-on experience using RequisitePro, ClearQuest, and M.S. Project · Excellent mentoring, presentation, training, and diplomacy skills · Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills · Proven ability to work under pressure and to effectively multitask · Proven ability to work effectively with various IS groups and individuals · Responsible, conscientious, and the proven ability to deliver under minimal supervision · 4-year degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience. Additional Qualifications/Experience Desired: · 5 years experience working in client-server/RDBMS environments with one or more of the following operating systems: AS400, IBM System i, Windows Server, or UNIX · Experience with multiple Costco business areas/systems · RUP certification from IBM Rational · 2 years experience creating and maintaining project schedules utilizing M.S. project · The ability to perform complex tasks and mentor in at least one other RUP discipline besides the Project Management discipline · 2 years experience working with offshore development teams To Apply: Send your current resume and cover letter in a word document to IT_JOBS@costco.com Please specify the JOB title and number as shown above on your cover letter to ensure proper handling of your resume.
