RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development and implementation of effective marketing plans for Timberland’s Canadian business to build overall Timberland equity in the marketplace, and help generate profitable account growth. Develop account strategic marketing plans and manage all public relations efforts to support Timberland’s men’s, women’s, and kids’ footwear business in Canada. Areas of responsibility include: In-Store Visual Presentation (Windows, point of sale materials, fixturing); Advertising (Out of Home, Radio, ROP, Direct Mail, Catalogs); Promotions and Events (including Retailer Manager Meetings); Sales Associate Programs/Product Seeding. Lead the development of account-level programs and creative for the areas listed above. Write briefs and provide strategic direction to Creative Development to ensure achievement of seasonal goals and consistency with Timberland brand positioning and creative platforms. Partner with Project Management to ensure flawless and timely program execution and creative reviews. Manage and track customer spending to assigned budget. Lead development, production and shipping of seasonal product catalogs and look books for Canada. Identify new ways to improve program sell-in, retail sell-through, and Timberland processes. Develop and present wholesale marketing presentations that link to customer goals and seasonal initiatives at key meetings, including sales meetings, trade shows, and major account meetings. Collaborate with sales representatives to ensure the achievement of business goals, retailer priorities, and Timberland initiatives. Initiate, maintain and nurture account marketing relationships. Work closely with marketing and visual managers from key retailers to ensure consistency of Timberland presentation and communication in the marketplace. Foster strong cross-functional connections that result in more effective marketing plans. Support channel go-sell preparation and lead seasonal strategic projects as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA desirable. Five to seven years of Retail or Brand Marketing experience, preferably in the footwear and/or apparel industry. International experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically, demonstrate financial acumen, conduct quantitative analyses, and execute multiple projects while maintaining an attention to detail. Strong organizational and project management skills. Team oriented; curious & energetic. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Regular travel within Canada & US required.
