Job Responsibilities
Golder Associates Inc., a leading international consulting firm specializing in earth sciences and environmental engineering, is seeking an experienced rock mechanics engineer for our Reno, Nevada office.
The successful candidate will undertake pit slope design studies and other geotechnical/geological related projects, predominantly in the mining industry, for Golder’s Reno and other offices. Work will include periodic travel to remote locations within the US and internationally. Duties may include field data collection, field instrumentation and testing, data reduction and engineering analyses, and report writing.

Job Requirements
We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional with the ability to travel and to work independently. The successful candidate must have a master's degree in geological, mining or civil engineering with 5 to 10 years experience and a strong background in rock slope engineering.  Attention to detail and excellent communications are essential, together with computer literacy and experience with geological and geotechnical engineering software. Good organizational and writing skills, flexibility to perform a variety of assignments, ability to work with a team, and a strong work ethic are also required. Experience at remote sites and around heavy equipment would be beneficial.
