Pharmacy Technician (Technical Services)
The successful candidate will participate in the delivery of Pharmacy technical services to the Trust. This includes a Central Intravenous Additive Service (CIVAS) to respiratory and paediatric wards, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) to adult and paediatric patients and aseptically prepared clinical trials.
To assist in the training and validation of rotational technicians, student technicians, pre-registration pharmacists and basic grade pharmacists under the direct supervision of the Senior Pharmacy Technician, Technical Services.
To undertake manufacturing of aseptically prepared products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the Quality Assurance Programme, the principles of the Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety at work.
To assemble emergency drug boxes for supply to wards and departments when they are returned from within the hospital. Ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed correctly.
One year full-time post qualification hospital Pharmacy practice experience
Previous experience and training in Technical Services.
BTEC or NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Science
All staff are expected to take responsibility for their own continual personal development
Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) Registration as Pharmacy Technician
