Job Skills The definition is that the team lead has a thorough working knowledge of all the functions of those they lead. That means that there is not a single job that they cannot perform in the area which they work, and that as a working team lead, will be called upon to perform such tasks as requested by the supervisor. Secondly, they posses the skills to lead people in the performance of their job. This is demonstrated by good communication skills, both verbal and written. Their rapport with other associates and management is conducive to a positive working experience. They are also respected by those they lead, through their repeated demonstration of BPNA core values. No disciplinary action is to be taken by the team lead against another individual. That function falls under the Supervisors role. Thirdly, they can perform at least 2 basic tasks core to operations. The list includes: RF/Cluster label picking, taper functions, production kitting and master cartoning, basic receiving, trailer loading, programming, QC, containerization, and LTL functions. Training The working team lead is able to train all associates in their group to the required S.O.P.’s. They also recognize issues and communicate them to the supervisor for review and changes. Quality and safety compliance is to be reinforced by the team lead, with problems addressed through the supervisor. Daily Goal Attainment The team lead will accurately convey the daily goals and monitor the performance of the team in attaining those goals. The purpose is to notify the supervisor of any drop off early enough, so that changes can be made before the goals are missed. This is driven through the performance of the individuals within the team leads work area, as the supervisor will monitor the overall performance of their areas. This means the team lead has to be proficient in the data systems that help measure performance. |
