JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software for Workflow Solutions products in LANs, WANs, or MANs, within a healthcare environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize, manage, and lead technical system design discussions with customer IT, MIS or biomed departments, installation contractors, and other trades as required.
  • Perform site surveys, RF surveys (if applicable), develop system integration plans using multiple vendor products, & coordinate with customer IT or MIS departments.
  • Participate in development of system layout and design to meet customer configuration requirements.
  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple projects with limited supervision and work in a small team environment.
  • Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of specified customer servers and network topology. Understand back-end network security.
  • Actively participates as team member resolving technical support troubleshooting to resolution.
  • Implement and maintain network and server documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, team player who routinely participates in knowledge exchange with his/her technical peers, as well as positive attitude are essential.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Job Requirements and Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BS in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience in a multi-site, professional services firm supporting non-technical users.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with wireless networks (network administrator): Radius, 802.11, etc.
  • Industry certified in Wi-Fi, and experience conducting Wi-Fi site assessments, Wi-Fi network configuration, certification, and debugging.
  • Willing to travel up to 80% and be on-call.
  • Experience configuring, setting up, and debugging PC-based systems.
  • Experience in Echelon networking.
  • Telephony Experience (trunking - 9 analog loop start, E & M, setup hunt groups, ability to adjust padding levels within PBX and/or DXP).
  • Experience in network security.
  • Preferred certification in: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator), A +, MCSA (Microsoft Certified System Administrator), Security +.
  • Advanced understanding of deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, SQL-7, SQL 2000, IIS server and associated networked systems.
  • Strong oral, written communication skills to resolve complex network and server related issues into actionable concepts for customers to understand.
  • Solid technical skills, project a professional and outgoing personality, and a willingness to contribute at all levels.
  • Strong organization skills, detail orientation, and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and prioritize work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization (both within Hospitals and with third party contractors) required.
  • Off-hours coverage and emergency support as needed, and possess a broad knowledge of corporate business practices, strategies and business objectives. Perform on call responsibilities per specified schedule or as otherwise prescribed by the supervisor.
  • Possess ability to work through issues and bring projects to completion; perform complex research, analysis, and troubleshooting; and resolve critical problems over sustained time durations in a logical manner.
  • Possess expertise in client/server networking environments and best practices, experience with hardware vendors and a strong understanding of networking aspects, Windows XP, W2K, NT4.0, with SQL and Oracle experience.
  • Experience with data/voice/video conferencing is also required, as is skills with networking protocols such as TCP/IP and OSI Model.
  • Basic PBX telephony knowledge and basic configuration.
