Job Description Network Engineer: Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations You will be responsible for leading the effort in concert with a team of system administrators and Network engineers to build production network and system environments for application development and testing. The timeline for accomplishing these projects is usually short and requires the ability to work closely with others, plan, and coordinate others efforts to be successful. It will be your responsibility for automating the deployment and configuration management to optimize efficiency. Specific Knowledge/Skills Demonstrated experience with enterprise-scale network engineering and support. You will have experience with the architecture, technologies, and equipment associated with web hosted applications such as F5 load balancers, switches, firewalls, NAS, Linux OS, and Oracle database servers. Must have the following Internet VPNs using IPSec - Cisco and Netscreen Firewalls - Complex load balancing with BigIP F5 - Complex and secure Internet-facing services - UNIX and associated services (BIND, httpd, NIS etc.) - Open source network monitoring and configuration management Should have 5-7 years direct network engineering and/or system administration experience. Experience networking and configuring F5 load balancers. Experience installing RedHat Linux OS . Experience managing database servers. Experience with automation of lab environments In addition to the above technical experience , candidate must demonstrate the following competencies: team player, results oriented, attention to detail, process and methodology skills, strong problem solving skills, strong trouble shooting skills, works cross functionally with other organizations, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. . Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred Proficiency required in some or all of the following products and/or technologies: UNIX/Linux Web Technologies (Web Logic, IIS, MTS, XML, HTML, DHTML, ASP) Programming and/or scripting (Java, JSP, JavaScript, shell, Perl, ANT, Tcl) TCP/IP networking Network security and appliances (i.e. routers, firewalls, load balancers, etc.) Mobile carrier infrastructure (i.e. MSC, SMSC, WAP, PPG, etc.) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent presentation, organizational, and planning skills Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment Fluent in English
