Essential Functions: - Has expert knowledge of state-of-the-art information systems security concepts and extensive knowledge of computing technology and company and government security requirements.
- Participates in and leads projects for the requirement analysis effort for security policies, services, and systems, including representing Jeppesen Technical Services (JTS) on process designs and strategic planning.
- Participates in or leads teams tasked with the design, integration, development, validation and implementation of specific security policies, systems and services.
- Plans and coordinates the design and implementation of security policies, procedures, and tools requiring the integration of advanced technologies and technological concepts and complex information systems and processes.
- Acts as a resource and provides innovative solutions by investigating, analyzing, and resolving highly complex security-related questions and problems.
- Creates documentation, provides training and supports the use of Jeppesen infrastructure.
- Plans and presents programs for end-user security awareness.
- Reviews user and access capabilities with department managers on periodic basis.
- Coordinates with development teams to ensure application security standards are being followed and implemented correctly.
- Evaluates application development and implementation activities for possible vulnerabilities.
- Interfaces with the appropriate government agencies, customers, suppliers, and company personnel in order to facilitate implementation of protective mechanisms and to ensure understanding of and compliance with computing security requirements.
- Represents an organization or division on internal issues and the company on external issues to ensure that customer needs are effectively promoted in policy development, standards, and regulatory bodies.
- Supports required certification and/or operational approval activities required to deploy applications in an airline environment.
- Evaluates new security technology & trends, then provides recommendations to strengthen Jeppesen´s information security environment.
- Is an organization or companywide expert.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: - Bachelors or Master´s Degree in computer sciences, engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of academic or professional technical information security experience
- 2+ years of experience (academic or professional) in cutting edge development technologies, specifically Web based technologies using Java, MS .Net framework, and C#
- 3+ years of academic or professional web application development experience
- Experience performing vulnerability risk assessments of application environments using both manual procedures and automated analysis tools.
- Knowledge of network technologies and protocols
- Strong understanding of application security concepts such as Strong Authentication, Encryption, Access Controls, endpoint security agents, memory firewalls, XML gateways, host-based firewalls, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: - Security IT Audit or application assessment experience
- Experience implementing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions in a Web-based environment
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification is desired
- Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD)
- Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD)
