An Adjunct Instructor is needed to teach NCM (Network and Communications Management) undergraduate courses at DeVry University’s Campus in Federal Way, Washington.

We are seeking an instructor to teach core networking skills as exemplified in the Cisco CCNA certification, security of networks, converged networks skills, and enter prise network planning and management.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses including , Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and/or PC Configuration and Management. Qualified Instructors must be prepared to teach at either the Associate's or Bachelor's level.

Teaching these classes includes a variety of tasks such as: developing new strategies to teach the course, preparing handouts, exams and assignments and maintaining positive classroom relationships with students.

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.

2. Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.

3. Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.

4. Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.

5. Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.

6. Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.

7. Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.


Qualifications

Masters degree in related field is required.

5 years experience strongly preferred: including some combination of the following: Network Operating Systems, Set-up of Network Administration, Voice Communications, Wide Area Networks, Enterprise Networks, and Wireless Networks.
