In Costco's Information Systems Division, to support and enhance our continued efforts to revitalize the Application Developments Architecture, we are excited to announce the creation of the new App Dev Architecture Middleware/Integration team. This team is being created to drive technology change into Costco's applications by guiding and assisting the App Dev functional areas in the use of various middleware tools and technologies. These efforts will support the execution of the architecture strategy and modernization plan. In the short-term, the team will focus on the following areas: Develop and implement the best practices, standards and governance Support of the Messaging and Broker middleware. Develop and maintain the various Messaging Patterns Provide expertise to successfully utilize and implement the new middleware into App Dev projects and applications. Ensure successful deployment and long-term success of the new middleware Assess Middleware Training needs for the Application Development Teams. Middleware Integration Developer #3894 Description of position: The Integration Developer is responsible for designing and developing enterprise Integration solutions. The position will work closely with Enterprise Architects and Application teams to deliver enterprise wide solutions. Daily tasks and responsibilities · Develop and support Message Flows to build an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) using Websphere Message Broker · Provide WMQ and WMB administration support to backup the primary administrator · Provide 24x7 on-call support of production systems on a rotation basis · Recommend and develop integration standards, guidelines, and best practices for WebSphere Message Broker and WebSphere MQ · Work with Application Engineers to ensure that application designs utilize the appropriate integration patterns and standards · Analyze, design, develop, and test message broker flows in support of multiple business projects · Mentor junior members of the integration team and be an education resource for the application development teams · Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and standards · Build and maintain a solid understanding of the application areas and the business areas they support Qualifications: Required · 2+ years experience analyzing, designing and implementing integration solutions using Websphere Message Broker (WMB) and WebSphere MQ (WMQ), and 6+ years overall IT experience · Strong UNIX skills, preferably AIX · Strong ESQL and XML skills · Knowledge of administration tasks for Websphere Message Broker and Websphere MQ, especially in the areas of High Availability, Security, and Clustering. · Must have the ability to learn and maintain knowledge of multiple application areas · Must be self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented. · Must have proven ability to set and follow priorities and timelines · Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills · Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Proven ability to work independently or in conjunction with a team · Experience and Willingness to teach/mentor others in I.S.
