The BDO Seidman Litigation and Fraud Investigation Practice is comprised of Certified Public Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiners, former federal law enforcement professionals, specialists in computer forensics and practitioners with experience in industry accounting rulemaking bodies. These professionals provide consulting, testimony and arbitration services in the areas of corporate internal investigations, financial fraud investigations, damage analysis, post-acquisition disputes, professional liability matters, and insurance claims. Clients include major law firms, insurance companies, major corporations, and audit committees at publicly traded companies involved in complex litigation and fraud investigations across business lines.

The New York office of BDO Seidman, LLP serves a diverse range of private and publicly owned clients across a comprehensive array of industries including Manufacturing, Technology and Retail.

Key Responsibilities:Senior Manager with significant (5+ years) experience developing and evaluating large business interruption claims on behalf of hospitality and other organizations. Significant travel may be required plus well developed client relationship skills. Qualified candidates will manage teams of junior staff and assist with business development.

Your primary responsibility working directly with insured entities and insurance companies to prepare estimates of lost profits due to natural disasters and other causes; briefing Partner on engagement status; and assisting with negotiating settlements between insured companies and insurers.

Qualifications:

  • Five + years experience working for CPA firm, insurance company, consulting firm or hospitality company.
  • Track record preparing and evaluating large business interruption claims. Must be professional, resourceful, flexible, action-oriented, enthusiastic, team player and have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Some work experience as investigator accountant or auditor is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Strong consideration for Accounting, Business or Finance majors, advanced degree MBA or CPA preferred.
