Responsible for the successful delivery of the Foundation Learning programme, with focus on Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT from Entry Level 1 upwards, as well as Personal, Social Development and Work Ready Employability elements.

As a Foundation Learning Tutor you will guide and support the learner right throughout their journey, you will

Deliver Foundation Learning Programme, including Functional Skills English, Math and ICT, PSD and work ready programme. Use appropriate Initial Interview to assist learners identify their existing skills, work experience, interests and job goals
Using the Diagnostic Assessment material, assess levels of competency within literacy and numeracy
Develop and agree realistic learning plans with learners taking their needs into consideration
Prepare and adapt teaching materials including hand outs, assignments, booklists and assessment papers, to enable all learners to progress
Create new learning material to meet the needs of the learner
Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment
Produce and deliver appropriate individual and group exercises in order to achieve the Individual Training Plan
Support, coach and mentor learners into progression
Assist learners to realise life and employability goals
Conduct learner reviews on a 4 weekly basis
Achieve contractual targets, as defined by the company, to assist in the recruitment of learners onto the programme
Induct learners onto the programme, through defined processes, with regards to paperwork completion and comprehensive initial assessment

Candidates will hold a minimum of PTLLS, ideally working at CTLLS or DTLLS level with experience delivering Foundation Learning programmes.

Purpose of Job TCHC has been contracted by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) to provide specific training and support to 16-17 year old young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) in the Cambridge area. The main objective of this provision is to support these young people, who are at risk of long-term disengagement, to move into education, training or employment with training to sustain this outcome. We also want to increase these young people’s experience and qualifications so that they have the opportunity to continue in education and successfully find work. The design of the programme has been developed to allow an individual to access a wide breadth of progression routes within 4 key sectors ICT, Customer Services, Business Administration, Retail. Following the Individual Assessment, each young person will be supported through a flexible package, tailored to their needs. The level of support required will be guided by the needs of the young person. Embedded into the main provision will be support to develop the young person’s English, Math and IT to Level 2. Individual mentoring and support will also be provided to address any barriers and issues that may prevent the young person from sustaining their activity. Other skills and behaviours such as communications, confidence, social skills, and employability skills will also be developed. As a Tutor you will be required to plan, prepare and teach courses for young people within the TCHC programme of work, as agreed with the Training Manager and to OFSTED standards. Carry out the administrative tasks required in each programme area. Provide appropriate learner feedback and support and educational advice and information where necessary, and to create an appropriate and welcoming atmosphere for learners. Main Tasks Responsibilities As Course Tutor you are required to carry out the following duties in the context of TCHC’s policies and practices, particularly Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection, and those of any host organisations, including informing learners of their obligations: Plan deliver and report on your course, using methods and materials appropriate to the learner group and course content. A Scheme of work/syllabus and lesson plans should be used for this and made available to the Directors, class visitors or inspectors when required. Prepare/adapt appropriate teaching materials Identify/assess the needs of learners and if necessary adapt course content and delivery style to meet these needs. Where a course is inappropriate for a learner direct them to another course or provider. Comply with the TCHC policy on Equality and Diversity so that all learners are treated with respect and dignity in an environment in which a diversity of backgrounds and experience is valued. Deal with any harassment or discrimination issues that arise. Discuss Learning Outcomes or moderation requirements with learners as the course proceeds.. Liaise with TCHC administration team to be aware of venue, resources and administration, including procedures in case of fire and other health and safety issues. Evaluate the effectiveness of learning. Assess learners’ work where appropriate. Keep records of learners’ progress and ensure learners are given feedback on their progress. Offer advice on further learning and progression opportunities to learners as required. Ensure that all required paperwork, including enrolment forms, learning outcomes forms, NCFE and other registration forms and course registers, including the tutor’s report and claim forms are completed and returned to the relevant office, within two weeks of the end of the course (It is vital for funding purposes that these documents are received promptly). Position Description
Provide individual and small group tutoring to students in the Tutoring Center at Bellingham Technical College (H-7). Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. Other assistance might include: reviewing in-class material, notes, and text working on solutions to homework problems preparing for upcoming tests. During non-tutoring times, students may be asked to help perform other clerical type duties in the Tutoring Center. Tutoring occurs on an as-needed basis and usually covers one of the following subjects: Mathematics (Occupational Math through Pre-Calculus II), Biology (including Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology), Intro to Computers, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, and English/Communication. Additional subjects may be needed upon student request.
Qualifications
An A or B grade in each of the subjects in which you wish to tutor, plus instructor recommendation if available.
Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
Responsible, dependable, and mature.
Previous tutoring or teaching experience beneficial, but not required
Work Schedule
This is a part-time, hourly, non-represented position with hours that can range between 3 and 20 hours per week. Most tutors work between 5 and 15 hours per week when academic classes are in session, but there is no guarantee of a minimum amount of hours.
Compensation
Current pay rate is 11.10 per hour for both individual and group tutoring.

Job Description:

DISTRICT DATA COORDINATOR

Position Mission

The District Data Coordinator is responsible for preparing and maintaining contracts with school districts, as well as disseminating district specific information to Invoicing and payment, tutor recruitment, and Community outreach.

Reports To: National Student Support Services Director

Peer Relationships: SSS Customer Services and Hours Monitoring

Direct Reports: National Student Support Services Director

Ancillary Relationships: Invoicing and Payment Director and/or Manager, Tutor Recruitment Manager and/or Assistant Manager, COD Manager

Position Accountabilities

Contract Preparation

Demonstrates the ability to:

Extract district specific information contained within a contract.

Record all district information and requirements with precise detail.

Accurately fill out and gather all required district paperwork in a timely manner with special attention to district deadlines.

Organize and file copies of district paperwork for future reference.

Update all internal paperwork related to the successful execution of the program (i.e., Parent Intro Letter, RPP, Tutor Guidelines Packet, etc.).

Inter:Office Dissemination

Demonstrates the ability to:

Deliver district information to all appropriate department leaders in a timely manner.

Continually update and communicate with department leaders any changes made by districts.

Convey knowledge of districts to leaders and members of other departments.

Processing Student Lists

Demonstrates the ability to:

Create spreadsheets containing student information provided by districts.

Maintain and update accurate student information on the database.

District Liaison

Demonstrates the ability to:

Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with district contacts.

Respond to any issue or concern that may arise with districts in a timely manner.

Communicate all issues regarding student status and/or updates to districts.

Leadership Characteristics

Demonstrates the ability to:

Work independently and in a team environment.

Communicate with members of other departments.

Be organized and detail:oriented.

Complete and respond to tasks immediately and sufficiently.
