Our client is currently looking for a Field Service Engineer based near or within the North East of London. The area covered in principle will be London and the South East of England including East Anglia. Responsible for installation, servicing and repair of their range of laboratory instrumentation. The Field Service Engineer must be able to work without supervision, managing their own workload and providing a high level of customer care. Main Responsibilities: Field service repairs to all instrumentation including support of associated computer systems. Provide routine maintenance to all instrumentation and support of associated computer systems. IT support to all customers including internal staff. Field Duties: Provide effective field repairs to all instrumentation and systems. Provide planned routine maintenance to all instrumentation and systems in accordance with written procedures. To carry out all duties in a professional and courteous manner whilst promoting an interest in the company at all times. To manage effective stock control and timely completion of all service administration tasks as directed by the service manager. To assist sales personnel with demonstrations and commissioning as required. Provide repair and technical support service for all equipment on demonstration as required by the sales department. To provide customer training and instruction as required. To provide customer feedback information to the relevant sales representative. Essential: Field service experience. Good electronic and electro-mechanical experience. Experienced in test and fault finding on electronic instrumentation. Good IT skills including networking. CG, BTEC, ONC, HNC or other appropriate electronics qualification. Ability to work independently. Good customer communication skills. Ability to carry out all duties in a professional and courteous manner Clean driving licence. Desirable: Medical diagnostic experience. Experience with fluidics e.g. valves and pumps. Knowledge of transducer measurement systems e.g. vacuum and pressure. Ability to work to written procedures/ISO quality systems. Other Circumstances: Need to travel and stay away from home as required. This could be at short notice and must be considered as part of the job.
